Editorial

This issue of International Journal of Paediatric Orthopaedics (IJPO) represents the final contribution of the current editorial board. Over the past six years, the Editorial team of POSI has published 16 issues of International Journal of Paediatric Orthopaedics as the official journal of our society. This is entirely due to the hard work of POSI members and the support of the Executive Council.
Over the previous 12 months, the newly-constituted Editorial Committee has worked to complete 2 further issues of IJPO including a symposium on skeletal dysplasias. Further issues with original articles and symposia on hip preservation and team approach in paediatric orthopaedic are nearing completion.
IJPO caters to a global audience in its readership and submissions. We have published articles originating from a dozen countries across 4 continents but remain true to our original aim of highlighting scientific work from the developing world.
Our new-and-improved article submission platform “Scripture” has attracted a greater number of submissions this year. We request POSI members to register themselves on Scripture for article submission and to volunteer as a reviewer. Articles published in IJPO already appear in Index Copernicus and we are in the process of obtaining indexation in other online databases.
This issue includes an excellent review of “atypical clubfoot”, a difficult problem for any paediatric orthopaedic surgeon. A series of reports on paediatric musculoskeletal infections covers rare presentations such as osteomyelitis of the scapula, pyomyositis of the iliacus muscle and chronic recurrent multifocal osteomyelitis of the spine. We wrap up with a technique note on surgical drapes.
We encourage POSI members to benefit from free full-text access to the journal at www.ijpoonline.com. The archive section has symposia which will be of use to exam going postgraduates.
Please do share the articles with your trainees and fellows. IJPO issues are easily downloadable free of charge and in full-text format from our website www.ijpoonline.com
We invite your suggestions and comments for any improvements to the journal. Kindly write to us editor.ijpo@gmail.com
It is my pleasure to acknowledge the contributions of authors, reviewers, editors, and the backend team who have been instrumental in bringing out this issue. We acknowledge the invaluable contribution of Mr Saurabh Pullawar from Indian Orthopaedic Research Group for the excellent support in collating articles, formatting manuscripts and communicating with the authors.
The journal is currently in its fledgling state and with continued support, it will be one of the greatest legacies of our beloved society. I wish the incoming Editor and the team all success in their efforts.

Sincerely
Dr Jayanth S Sampath
Editor, International Journal of Paediatric Orthopaedics
